Your mission
* You design, implement and continuously improve a lean QMS aligned with ISO 9001 – simple, practical and fit for scale.
* You embed EHS and environmental requirements into processes and support readiness for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
* You own the quality backbone: internal audits, management reviews, CAPA, and document control with clear KPIs and ownership.
* You prepare, host and follow through on certification and customer audits and manage findings, root causes, and timely closure.
* You map and maintain end-to-end process architectures (value streams, SIPOCs, swimlanes) across Operations, Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial, ensuring clear interfaces and roles.
* You lead targeted, data-driven improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and TOC; you run root-cause analyses and validate changes via A/B or pilot experiments, tracking measurable performance impact.
* You standardize and scale what works by translating improvements into procedures, training, and routines (PDCA).
Your profile
* You have 5+ years of experience in quality and process engineering within process-heavy industries, ideally automotive, battery, or chemicals, and heave preferably worked in startup or scale-up environment.
* You run ISO 9001 end-to-end (internal audits, CAPA, document control, management review) and manage customer / certification audits end to end, including root-cause analyses and verified closure.
* You are familiar with IATF 16949 and the automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans).
* You design and maintain a clear process architecture with value streams, SIPOC, and swimlanes, with a central repository.
* You drive data-driven continuous improvement, applying Lean, Six Sigma, and TOC, validate changes via pilots and A/B tests, and define metrics, conduct RCA, and use dashboards to steer performance.
* You work closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams.
* You bring EHS awareness and support readiness for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
* You communicate clearly in German and English and you operate hands-on, pragmatically, and with a scale mindset.
Why us?
* Working in a young and interdisciplinary scale-up team
* A lot of responsibility and creative freedom right from the start
* Active contribution to climate protection & circular economy
* Active involvement in decisions
* Team spirit and a family atmosphere
About us
cylib is a research-based German scaleup for holistic battery recycling - starting from discharging to recovery of all components of the lithium battery - that was founded in Aachen in 2022 by three visionary founders, including a female CEO.
Our process
The cylib process offers a complete end-to-end process from battery pack to green battery material by employing a combination of mechanical and thermal pre-treatments and an innovative water-based lithium and graphite recovery. Unlike incumbents, cylib can therefore recover battery materials such as lithium, graphite or manganese. The process was developed over several years of research at the renown RWTH Aachen University and offers an efficient, resource- and climate friendly recovery of all battery materials from end-of-life batteries.
cylib's technology enables the recovery of all battery components regardless of whether it is an end-of-life battery or not. Recovery of green secondary raw materials from the cylib process enables the realization of the true Circular Economy on the European market.
