PhD Position in Nephrology Research
In our Department of Nephrology and the Else Kroener-Fresenius Center for Nephrological Research, we are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to contribute to our translational research program. The project aims to understand how the hematopoietic system connects cardiovascular and kidney diseases.
We will use single-cell and spatial omics as well as large population-based datasets to identify molecular and cellular mechanisms driving cardiovascular complications in kidney disease. This includes integrating multi-omics data with large-scale cohorts such as UK Biobank and collaborating with experimental and clinical researchers to define hypotheses and interpret results in a biological and clinical context.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology or a related field and excellent command of English. German is an advantage but not required. In addition to a competitive salary based on a collective agreement, you will benefit from long-term security through company pension schemes, internal and external training opportunities, and attractive health offers.
