KG Organization Gas Services Business Unit Central Full / Part time Full-time Experience Level Experienced Professional A Snapshot of Your Day As part of our team, you will be responsible for exhaust gas system of gas turbines, both in research and development as well as first-time applications of customer projects. You set the technical backbone, that our global acting project execution teams are starting with an excellent design solution, thus ensuring successful project outcomes.You are involved in various technical topics supporting proposal teams, project execution, resolving site issues, maintaining specifications or driving design development.Either way, you will collaborate with a global cross-organization team with different technical and cultural backgrounds.How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Development and design of exhaust gas system for large gas turbines incl. diffuser, expansion joints, stack and diverter damper, incl. technical supplier qualification
2. Drive development activities, conduct technical reviews, create and maintain detailed design documents for your systems
3. Think out of the box and challenge norms and develop innovative ideas that optimize technical design and drive success question established methods
4. Ensure that the department related R&D programs are achieved in terms of schedule, budget and report your results to stakeholders
5. Evaluation of Finite Element Simulations (FEM) of others to assess the mechanical integrity of components and support the ongoing development of innovative design solutions
6. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process and design to cost, global supplier base and their related manufacturing as well as staying updated on industry trends and advancements to incorporate best practices into development processes
What You Bring
7. Degree (Bachelor/Master) in Mechanical/Process Engineering or similar engineering disciplines with several years of relevant experience in powerplant business
8. Knowledge of material properties in a hot gas environment, incl. welding, manufacturing processes and related codes and international standards preferred
9. Knowledge of heat transfer, noise absorption, hydraulic/pneumatic control desirable
10. Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to handle complex engineering tasks and explain technical concepts clearly in an international environment
11. Experience with CAD/FEM or similar tools preferred and familiarity with risk assessment methods, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and project execution experience is desirable
12. Fluent English language skills, German (good to have), Willingness to travel (domestic and international about 10%)
