About the Role Cleeven is looking for a motivated and skilled Data Engineer to join our Swiss team. In this role, you will support our clients in building and maintaining modern data platforms, enabling them to extract value from their data. You will work on-site with companies across various sectors including finance, manufacturing, life sciences, and energy, contributing to digital transformation and analytics-driven decision-making. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines, integrating diverse data sources, and ensuring data is clean, secure, and accessible. You will collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and software engineers to enable scalable and efficient data infrastructure. Responsibilities Design and implement robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern tools and frameworks. Integrate structured and unstructured data from various sources (e.g., APIs, databases, cloud storage, sensors). Develop and manage data models, data lakes, and data warehouses in cloud and hybrid environments. Ensure data quality, security, governance, and compliance in all data-related workflows. Support the deployment of machine learning models and business intelligence solutions. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical data solutions. Document data flows, processes, and technical specifications to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Solid experience with SQL and one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Scala). Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Airflow, Talend, dbt) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop). Knowledge of data modeling techniques and storage formats (e.g., Parquet, Avro, Delta Lake). Fluent in German and English (C1 level or above).
