DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) manages the flow of goods and information across a customer's global supply chain utilizing air, ocean, and ground transportation, customs brokerage services, and dedicated warehousing/distribution centres. We are part of the Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL) Group, the world’s leading logistics provider with operations in more than 220 countries. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Regional MNC Sector Head New Energy, located in Germany / Flexible European location, who will shape the regional strategy and agenda for sector development in close collaboration with key stakeholders across different functions and Business Units.

General Information:

Role Title: Regional MNC Sector Head New Energy

Location: Frankfurt / Flexible location across Europe

Overall, Role Purpose:

Drive business development within the New Energy sector by executing the sector growth plan and leading strategic initiatives across the region.

Reports to:

VP Head of Business Development Europe

Differentiators:

* Senior visionary for the New Energy sector operating at regional/divisional level in close collaboration with other Business Units.
* Drive innovations into the Business Units to meet and exceed New Energy customer expectations.
* Develop and drive the implementation of the sector strategy with long-term positive impact on business results.
* Build strong, trusted functional, cross-functional, and cross‑BU relationships with senior DHL leaders.
* Provide business rationale to influence stakeholders across DHL.
* Closely collaborate with Product, Country CEOs, and Heads of Marketing & Sales.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Strategy & Market Insight

* Define, own, and communicate the New Energy sector strategy in alignment with the overall divisional business strategy and objectives.
* Drive divisional initiatives aligned with sector strategy; provide input for network investment opportunities to ensure suitable ROI.
* Proactively monitor industry intelligence, sector trends, and competitor activities; communicate insights and assess impact on divisional strategy.

Business Development & Marketing:

* Drive best‑in‑class business development, account management, and sales activities for New Energy sector customers (prospects and existing).
* Define the sector marketing plan aligned with divisional objectives and determine key research priorities.
* Differentiate marketing plans for various sales channels and sub‑sectors.
* Identify key trends within the New Energy sector and translate them into innovative solutions with relevant stakeholders.

Operational Excellence & Innovation:

* Benchmark the sector value proposition against operational execution and customer expectations; engage stakeholders to close gaps.
* Steer innovation across the New Energy sector and support development of new solutions.

Leadership & Community Building:

* Build a world‑class sector community within the BU and across other Business Units; share knowledge and gather feedback.
* Lead teams of Regional Sector Heads, Global Customer Managers (GCMs), and Regional Customer Managers (RCMs), including team formation, account allocation, and travel approvals.
* Define training, coaching, and monitoring activities for MNC GCMs and RCMs.

Customer & Account Management:

* Oversee all regional Multi‑National Customers (MNCs) and support development of strategic accounts.
* Actively guide the RFQ process, providing input and support where required.
* Manage the sector bid calendar and communicate regularly with stakeholders directly and via commercial leads.
* Provide global/regional sales collateral supporting sector activities.
* Drive senior customer engagement, including active customer visits.

Financials & Planning:

* Contribute to annual budget planning, monitor performance, and ensure delivery against targets.
* Drive profitable volume growth within the sector through close collaboration with Product and focus country SMTs.

Talent & Organizational Development:

* Develop short-, mid-, and long‑term (1–5 years) plans for optimizing the organization and workforce.
* Manage succession planning to support sector growth and future‑proof the talent pipeline.

Your Profile:

* Master’s degree in Logistics, Business Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
* More than 10 years of experience in the logistics industry at management level, with minimum 5 years’ proven expertise in the New Energy or Technology‑related sector.
* Strong knowledge of transport and forwarding products, services, and applications.
* Strategic mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and propose improvements.
* Ability to build and sustain strong stakeholder relationships.
* Leadership skills fostering learning, growth, and development.
* Excellent communication, customer management, project management, change management, and negotiation capabilities.
* Fluency in English (verbal and written)
