At the Melsungen site, within B. Braun Melsungen AG, Hospital Care Division, we are looking for an R&D Manager (m/f/d) for the development of single-use medical devices made of plastic for infusion therapy in the Research & Development department of the Center of Excellence (CoE) Infusion & Pain Therapy as soon as possible.
In the Research & Development (R&D) department of the Center of Excellence Infusion & Pain Therapy, around 120 employees are engaged in developing new innovative product and application ideas and their implementation in the market. As an R&D Manager (m/f/d) in the Product Portfolio Development Team Infusion Sets, you will develop medical devices for infusion therapy and manage them throughout the entire product lifecycle. The goal is to continuously improve, expand, and enhance the product portfolio with new technologies. This is done in close collaboration with our stakeholders in product management, process engineering, production, and other internal and external parties involved.
This position focuses on regional anesthesia.
Tasks:
* You will work in international and interdisciplinary project teams to develop non-active medical devices according to the portfolio strategy.
* You will support and manage projects.
* You will perform lifecycle management, which means creating and maintaining development documentation, particularly in accordance with ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820.
* You will support and optimize the product portfolio through improvements, additions, the use of new technologies, and cost reduction in manufacturing.
* You will conduct technical analyses of new product ideas, product applications, and manufacturing processes.
* You will capture and coordinate product and component requirements in a regulated environment.
* You will monitor patents and the market environment.
* Further, you will participate in the planning and execution of application observations and usability studies.
Professional Qualifications:
* You have successfully completed a technical or scientific bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical engineering, plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a comparable field.
* You have several years of professional experience in product development, ideally in medical technology or another highly regulated environment, as well as in project management.
* You have expertise in processing methods for metals and polymers, such as injection molding, extrusion, or ultrasonic welding.
* Basic knowledge in the fields of medicine, pharmacy, or biology is also desirable and helps you understand the needs and requirements of medical professionals and patients.
* You are proficient in using MS Office.
* Your profile is completed by very good German and English skills; additional language skills, such as Japanese, are an advantage.
