Role Overview
The EVP, Head of Global Communications & Investor Relations is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and protecting Evotec’s reputation among critical stakeholders including investors, employees, media and the general public. This role blends strategic communication leadership with proactive investor engagement to align corporate narrative, performance and purpose with stakeholder expectations and long-term value creation. This role is responsible for defining and leading the global corporate communication and investor relations strategies, ensuring that Evotec’s messaging is aligned internally and externally with its business strategy and objectives,
The role oversees all communications activities from corporate messaging, public relations, thought leadership to investor relations and crisis communications. The incumbent will work closely with the CEO, Management Board and senior leadership to enhance Evotec's reputation, foster transparency with employees, investors and all other stakeholders, ensuring meaningful and regular engagement. The role will play an instrumental part in reinforcing Evotec’s position as a global leader in the life sciences sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive communications and investor relations strategy to reinforce Evotec’s corporate objectives, growth trajectory, and market positioning. This includes media relations, public relations, investor communications, and crisis management strategies. Develop and enforce messaging frameworks aligned with corporate values, purpose and business priorities.
2. Serve as strategic advisor to Management Board and senior leadership on communication strategies and messaging including external visibility especially during high-profile engagements such as global townhalls, earnings calls, media interviews, and shareholder meetings.
3. Manage and protect Evotec’s corporate reputation through proactive communication and media engagement. Oversee strategic messaging, ensuring it aligns with Evotec’s values, vision, and mission. Contribute to the execution of the Evotec brand strategy, in close collaboration with the Strategic Marketing function as owner of the brand strategy itself.
4. Manage all aspects of investor relations, ensuring transparent, timely engagement with the investment community. This includes quarterly earnings reports, investor calls, Annual General Meetings and other presentations, and ongoing communication with analysts and institutional investors. Serve as the key spokesperson for Evotec with the investment community, lead the development of the IR calendar and strategic engagement plan.
5. Shape Evotec's story to ensure it’s communicated effectively to investors, analysts, and external stakeholders. Highlight the company's successes, growth trajectory, and commitment to innovation in the life sciences sector.
6. Ensure internal communications are aligned with the corporate messaging and inform employees about key updates, strategic priorities, and corporate milestones.
7. Lead public relations campaigns that highlight key milestones and achievements in the business, reinforcing Evotec’s reputation as a leading innovator in the life sciences field.
8. Oversee the digital and social media strategies for corporate communications, ensuring engagement with relevant audiences across platforms. Leverage digital tools and social media channels to enhance corporate visibility and engagement.
9. Manage media strategy and relations to ensure a consistent and positive media presence. Lead the development of press releases, media statements, and public announcements.
10. Regularly interact with investors, analysts, and other key financial stakeholders to provide updates on Evotec's performance, strategies, and long-term outlook.
11. Lead crisis communication efforts, ensuring that Evotec is prepared to respond effectively to any unforeseen challenges, issues, or external threats to the company’s reputation.
12. Work across all functions of the organization to ensure that communications strategies align with broader business initiatives, including Finance, Operations, Legal, HR, R&D, commercial, and corporate development teams.
13. Ensure all communications, both internal and external, are consistent with Evotec’s strategic vision and maintain a unified voice across all platforms.
14. Lead the global communications and investor relations team. Ensure the team is equipped with the resources, skills, and guidance needed to succeed in their roles.
15. Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Provide leadership and mentorship to communications and investor relations staff to ensure they grow their skill set and stay on top of industry trends.
16. Build and nurture strong relationships with internal teams, senior executives, and external stakeholders to align communications efforts with organizational goals.
17. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of communications and investor relations strategies. Provide regular reports to the CEO and Board on the impact and reach of these efforts.
18. Continuously monitor market trends, media sentiment, and investor feedback to adjust strategies as necessary. Use data and analytics to refine communications tactics and improve engagement with stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
19. Several years of senior leadership experience in corporate communications, public relations, and investor relations, preferably in a listed company in the life sciences, healthcare, or biotech sectors.
20. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
21. Proven ability to manage complex global communications and investor relations functions, particularly in high-growth organizations.
22. Expertise in media relations, financial communications, and crisis management.
23. Knowledge of investor relations practices and compliance requirements.
24. Familiarity with corporate governance and best practices for investor engagement.
25. Proficiency with digital communications tools, including social media platforms, content management systems, and analytics tools.
26. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
27. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively and successfully network with executives, media, investors, and other stakeholders.
28. High levels of emotional intelligence, the ability to connect with people, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and tact.
29. Strategic thinker with the ability to align communications strategies with organizational objectives.
30. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Additional Information
31. This position requires frequent travel to key markets and investor events.
32. The role will occasionally require work outside standard hours for global communications and investor relations needs.
