Estimator / Project Cost Specialist (m/f/d)
About the Role
An experienced and analytical Estimator is sought to support tender preparation, project pricing, and cost planning activities for complex construction and infrastructure projects. This position plays an important role in securing new work and ensuring a seamless handover from bidding to project delivery. The ideal candidate is able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a high level of accuracy in all calculations and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop detailed project estimates, budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
* Analyze tender packages, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and scope
* Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and assess quotations
* Prepare variation and change order assessments, including supporting cost documentation and analysis
* Conduct quantity take-offs and perform regular visits to project sites across Germany (approximately two days per week)
* Work closely with engineering, operations, and site management teams throughout the tendering process
Candidate Requirements
* Degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline
* Approximately 5–10 years of experience in estimating or construction cost management
* Background in large-scale infrastructure or international construction projects
* Previous exposure to trenchless technologies such as HDD, microtunneling, or pipe jacking is considered beneficial
* Proficiency with estimating and cost management software such as iTWO, Candy, HeavyBid HCSS, or equivalent platforms
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
* Good written and spoken communication skills in both German and English
* Valid driving license
