Reports to: Founder & CEO


Mission

Convert Layla’s AI-generated travel demand into booked revenue. You will own the human sales and booking operation that turns high-intent trips into confirmed bookings, using deep travel agency experience, strong sales execution, and modern AI workflows.


Context

Layla processes over 30 million travel conversations, captures 150+ data points per traveler, and generates more than $150M in trip value every month. AI has solved discovery and trip creation. The next step is structured sales execution and flawless booking operations. This role is the bridge between intent and transaction.


What You’ll Own

* Lead end-to-end travel sales and booking operations
* Run the sales pipeline from qualified lead to payment and booking confirmation
* Review and finalize AI-generated itineraries and turn them into sellable offers
* Close high-value trips through calls, WhatsApp, and email
* Own payment flows, deposits, final payments, and invoicing
* Execute bookings across flights, accommodations, transfers, and experiences
* Work hands‑on with GDS and supplier systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport, bedbanks, DMCs)
* Manage ticketing, changes, cancellations, and post‑booking support
* Build SOPs for quoting, booking, and fulfillment
* Hire, train, and manage travel consultants and sales agents
* Collaborate closely with product and AI teams to improve conversion and handoff


What Success Looks Like

* Clear, predictable sales pipeline for AI-generated trips
* High conversion rates on qualified leads
* Smooth, reliable booking operations with minimal friction
* Strong margins and healthy unit economics
* A repeatable model that scales beyond founder‑led sales


Who You Are

* 5–10+ years experience in a travel agency or tour operator environment
* Proven background in travel sales and booking operations
* Hands‑on experience with GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport or similar)
* Comfortable running a sales pipeline and closing high‑ticket trips ($10k–$50k+)
* Strong understanding of fares, ticketing rules, and supplier negotiations
* Operationally sharp. You care about details, deadlines, and follow‑through
* Commercial mindset. You think in conversion, margin, and revenue
* Confident speaking directly with clients and closing deals
* Excited to modernize how travel agencies work with AI


Bonus Points

* Safari, Africa, or luxury travel experience
* Experience setting up a new agency or sales team
* Familiarity with IATA, ticketing, and BSP processes
* Experience selling travel via chat‑first or concierge‑style models
