Performance Marketing Expert (Google & Paid Search Focus)

The role
We are looking for a hands-on, strategically minded Performance Marketing Expert to own and scale our paid search efforts across a growing portfolio of pet nutrition brands. This is a pivotal role at the intersection of execution and strategy — you will be responsible for driving profitable growth through Google and Bing Ads while building the foundations for scalable, internationalized performance marketing operations.
As we continue expanding across EU markets and acquiring new brands, you will play a key role in shaping how we consolidate, differentiate, and grow our brand portfolio through paid channels. Beyond search, you will act as an internal consultant to teams managing Meta, Amazon Ads, affiliates, SEO/AIO, and CRM — helping elevate the overall performance marketing maturity of the organization.

Key responsibilities

Paid Search Management & Optimization
Own the day-to-day management and strategic optimization of Google Ads and Microsoft (Bing) Ads accounts across all brands and markets
Develop and implement a cross-brand paid search strategy that maximizes synergies, aligns with each brand's positioning, and actively minimizes cannibalization between brands
Manage campaign budgets with a strong focus on profitability metrics (ROAS, POAS, contribution margin)
Identify and execute opportunities for growth through new keywords, campaign types, audiences, and market expansions

Tracking, Measurement & Analytics
Set up and maintain conversion tracking across all brands and markets, ensuring data accuracy and completeness
Own and manage Google Merchant Center and product feed quality, including troubleshooting and optimization for Shopping campaigns
Implement and maintain web analytics setups (GA4) in coordination with technical teams
Build and maintain performance dashboards to provide clear, actionable reporting for stakeholders

Attribution & Incrementality
Design and apply attribution frameworks that provide an accurate view of channel contribution across the funnel
Run incrementality tests (e.g., geo-based or holdout experiments) to validate channel impact and inform budget allocation decisions
Challenge last-click defaults and advocate for measurement approaches that reflect true business impact

Scaling, Automation & Internationalization
Develop scalable processes, templates, and playbooks that enable rapid campaign rollout into new markets and newly acquired brands
Leverage automation (Smart Bidding, scripts, feed rules, rules-based automation) to increase efficiency and reduce manual overhead
Work closely with the ecommerce and brand teams to ensure landing page quality, product feed health, and creative assets support campaign performance

Cross-Channel Consulting & In-housing Roadmap
Act as an internal expert and sparring partner for teams and external agencies managing Meta, Amazon Ads, affiliate programs, SEO/AIO, and CRM
Evaluate the performance and cost-efficiency of external agency relationships and provide data-driven recommendations on further in-housing
Contribute to the broader performance marketing strategy and help define the roadmap for channel ownership and capability building

Must-Have Qualifications
4+ years of hands-on experience managing Google Ads at scale, ideally within ecommerce or a multi-brand environment
Demonstrated experience with Google Shopping / Performance Max campaigns and Merchant Center management
Strong proficiency in conversion tracking setup (GA4, GTM) and troubleshooting
Solid understanding of attribution modeling and incrementality measurement methodologies
Experience managing campaigns across multiple markets, including non-native language markets
Analytical mindset with confidence working in data — comfortable with Excel/Sheets, GA4, and preferably Looker Studio or similar BI tools
Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional EU languages are a strong plus

Nice-to-Have
Experience with Microsoft Ads (Bing)
Familiarity with Meta Ads, Amazon Ads, or affiliate marketing
Exposure to feed management tools (e.g., Channable, DataFeedWatch)
Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth scale-up environment
Background or genuine interest in pet nutrition, health, or DTC/subscription commerce
