Steelworks Installation Supervisor – Contract role
I am currently on the lookout for a Steelworks Installation Supervisor for a role in Frankfurt, Germany. I am acting on behalf of a well-established and respected business based out of Ireland who are operating heavily in Data Centre Industry.
This is an opportunity to join a company who has projects commencing throughout the globe with exponential growth in their Data Centre Division.
To be Considered for this Steelworks Installation Supervisor role:
* Maintain full-time supervision of steel erection activities ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
* Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, manpower levels, and progress.
* Conduct regular inspections of welds, bolted connections, alignment, and temporary works.
* Coordinate with engineering, safety, QA/QC, logistics, and other trades to avoid clashes.
* Ensure safe execution of activities including lifting, working at height, and hot works.
* Track progress, maintain daily reports, and validate subcontractor claims.
* Manage RFIs, design clarifications, and drawing updates.
* Lead safety walkdowns, enforce site safety rules, and close actions promptly.
* Ensure accurate redlines, as-built documentation, and quality records are maintained.
To be considered for this Steelworks Installation Supervisor role:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in supervising or managing structural steel works or heavy construction packages on large industrial or data centre projects.
* Strong technical knowledge of steel erection, welding, bolting, lifting operations, temporary works, and the full design–to–construction process.
* Proven ability to manage subcontractors, including coordination, progress tracking, manpower oversight, and quality & safety management.
* Trade background or relevant third‑level qualification in engineering, construction management, steel fabrication, or a related discipline.
* Excellent understanding of construction safety standards, including working at height, lifting operations, and hot‑work controls.
* Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to clearly convey needs, risks, and progress to project teams and subcontractors.
* Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, fabrication detailing, connection designs, erection sequences, and material schedules.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑track environment, maintaining high levels of organisation and attention to detail.
* Proven commitment to quality and safety, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and driving solutions.
* Flexibility to adapt to site conditions, extended hours, or shift patterns when required.
