SOSi is seeking a Senior Systems Administration Support Specialist (UNIX/Linux OS) in Wiesbaden, Germany. The ideal candidate will possess senior-level expertise in the administration, maintenance, and optimization of UNIX and Red Hat-based server environments. This role involves managing complex open source and proprietary architectures, overseeing specialized Linux applications, and ensuring the stability of critical command and control or commercial communication systems in support of theater-level mission requirements.
Essential Job Duties
* Provide senior-level technical support for the daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UNIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server-based operating systems.
* Oversee the configuration and performance of UNIX/Linux-based applications, including HP-UX, Solaris, or Red Hat specific environments.
* Manage resource allocation, kernel tuning, and system performance for UNIX-based architectures to ensure high availability and resilient performance.
* Lead the deployment and maintenance of Linux-based server workloads, ensuring efficient integration with enterprise storage and network resources.
* Ensure the availability and integrity of the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) by enforcing strict STIG compliance, security patching, and vulnerability remediation for all UNIX/Linux assets.
* Provide situational assessments and utilization metrics to address emerging UNIX/Linux system requirements and theater-wide processing initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* Active in scope Secret clearance with T5.
* BA/BS degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Business Administration, or Mathematics) plus three (3) years of specialized experience OR Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of specialized experience OR a major professional certification plus seven (7) years of specialized experience OR eleven (11) years of specialized experience.
* Possession of at least one of the following: UNIX Certified Administrator or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA).
The following experience may be concurrent.
* Minimum four (4) years of experience using and maintaining UNIX or Red Hat systems on a server-based OS.
* Minimum two (2) years of experience with HP-UX, Solaris, or Red Hat Linux based applications.
* Minimum two (2) years of direct experience with U.S. military command and control or commercial LAN/WAN communication systems.
Preferred Qualifications
* Advanced knowledge of Shell scripting (Bash, Korn, or C-Shell) for task automation.
* Experience with Red Hat Satellite or Ansible for centralized configuration management and patching.
* Familiarity with LDAP or Active Directory integration for Linux environments.
* Understanding of SELinux policy management and hardening.
* Prior experience supporting theater-level UNIX/Linux enterprise environments.

Work Environment
* Normal office conditions with potential to perform duties in deployed locations.
* May be requested to work evenings and weekends to meet program and contract needs.
