Your mission Design and Analysis of propellant supply systems for a two-stage winged hypersonic UAV Design and Analysis of tank systems for kerosene and liquid oxygen applications Design and interpretation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) based on requirements and functional needs Define and verify key performance parameters, such as flow rates, pressures, and efficiency, through simulation and testing Define specifications for valves, solenoid valves, control valves, pressure regulators, pressure vessels and safety components Fluid system component selection, trade-off studies and procurement Simulation and analysis of system behaviour Design fluid system parts and assemblies in CAD Define operation and safety procedures for the fluid system Your profile Successfully completed aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.) Experience in propellant management system design for aerospace vehicle preferred Programming skills in Python, C++, Matlab preferred Proficient with CAD software (Inventor/Creo) Experience with simulation software would be an advantage (EcosimPro, Ansys) Hands-on experience with assembling, testing and troubleshooting fluid systems. Based on more than 30 years of German and European spaceplane research, the development of the spaceplane AURORA began at the German Aerospace Center DLR. Aurora combines aircraft and rocket launcher technologies with a unique vehicle design, and offers a game-changing economic viability as well as opening the door for routine low-cost and safe access to space. In order to validate the technology and accelerate the spaceplane development, POLARIS has been developing a series of scaled flight demonstrators.
