With over £120m raised to date, including a recent 2025 round, they’re scaling essential financial infrastructure that reduces fraud, lowers processing costs, and supports high-value payments across major sectors. Role Description: You’ll join as the Chief Technology Officer, steering a cloud-native, real-time payments platform used by major banks and PSPs, driving technical excellence and scaling systems that process millions of transactions. Key Responsibilities: Shape and execute the long-term technology direction, ensuring the platform evolves in line with business goals, regulatory expectations, and customer needs. Champion engineering excellence by guiding architectural decisions, elevating delivery standards, and promoting modern development practices - including intelligent automation and AI-enhanced tooling. Build and mentor distributed engineering teams across regions, establishing a culture focused on learning, measurable delivery, and operational clarity. Oversee the resilience of production systems, raising availability beyond already strong benchmarks while reinforcing security, compliance, and incident-readiness. Strengthen DevOps and platform-operations processes to support scale, reliability, and rapid iteration. Drive the organisation’s approach to AI in software engineering, expanding its use in design, testing, development, and productivity. Qualifications: Background in fast-growing environments that include a strong payments component. Significant senior leadership background - Director, VP, or CTO level - within high-scale businesses serving major enterprise clients. Demonstrated ability to run cloud-native, API-first platforms that support real-time financial transactions. Interest or experience in using AI tools to accelerate engineering output and quality. Confident operating in regulated environments where security, compliance, and operational resilience are critical. Willing and able to spend one week per month on-site in Berlin.
