Responsibilities
The working student will devise and implement the RF measurement scenarios with off the shelf components. The measurement data is to be processed, updated, and presented for further decision-making.
Please note:
We currently have two student opportunities open for this role:
* Internship
* Working Student Position
Both roles share the same responsibilities and learning opportunities, and candidates will be considered for either position depending on their availability and student status.
Your tasks will be to plan the measurements with the off-the-shelf components (antennas, waveguides, amplifiers etc.) and measurement setup (mainly VNA and spectrum analyzer).
* Help associates and researchers towards building a test setup
* Perform RF measurements in a reliable manner (S-parameters, de-embedding etc.)
* Automate the process to acquire data
* Analyze/process the data and make reports for further evaluation and decision-making
Qualifications
* Electrical Engineering major with focus on RF engineering: courses, labs and/or RF related project
* Good knowledge of microwave engineering and RF measurement basics, especially at mmWave (76-81 GHz)
* Familiarity with antenna pattern measurement
* Prior experience of using RF measurement equipment (VNA, spectrum analyzer, calibration kit, RF power meter etc.) is preferred
* Good understanding of the automation process, and scripting languages such as Python and/or Matlab
* Precise, attentive to details, curious, and self-driven
