A leading Tier‑1 main contractor delivering major data‑centre projects across Europe is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its project team in Frankfurt. This role is central to coordinating the full design process on a large‑scale, high‑specification mission‑critical development for a global technology client.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the design process from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring all design deliverables meet programme, budget, and quality requirements.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across CSA, MEP, architectural, and specialist packages.
* Manage design workshops, technical reviews, and interface meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.
* Ensure design information is delivered in line with project milestones and supports construction sequencing.
* Review drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project standards and regulatory requirements.
* Identify design risks, clashes, and buildability issues, driving timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
* Support procurement by reviewing technical elements of tender packages and subcontractor proposals.
* Maintain accurate design documentation, registers, and change‑control processes.
* Work closely with project management, commercial, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration between design and delivery.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator within a main contractor or design‑build environment.
* Strong understanding of CSA and MEP interfaces on complex, fast‑track projects.
* Experience in data‑centre, high‑tech, industrial, or large commercial construction is highly desirable.
* Excellent coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple design packages and stakeholders in a high‑pressure environment.
* Proficiency with design management tools and common construction software platforms.
* English required; German language skills are an advantage.
