Job mission: An Assistant Manager Press Officer serves as primary owner of the Press Website and Press Tools ecosystem, Lead for Media Monitoring & Reporting for Kia Europe, Key Liaison to Global PR (Media Intelligence, Inter-regional enquiries, AI topics etc), Primary Contact for European Market PR Managers regarding Visual/ Text Assets. The role acts as the central coordination point between PR and Innovation stakeholders (Mobility, Electrification, Connectivity, Hyundai Motor Technical Centre R&D), ensuring consistent, high-quality, and strategically “First Mover” narrative aligned communication across all channels. Your responsibilities: Press Website & Content Ecosystem Leadership (Primary Priority): As the Press Website & Content Ecosystem Lead, you will oversee the full management and strategic evolution of Kia Europe’s Press Website. This includes ensuring the smooth upload of content, maintaining optimal functionality across devices, and managing all back‑office processes. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate publication of press materials. Acting as the operational lead for the platform, you will also be the main point of contact for local markets, providing guidance on website issues, press assets, and embargo coordination. Working closely with Product, Brand, and global teams, you will oversee the creation of press releases, visual assets, Q&A documents, photography briefings, event elevator pitches, recall statements, and reactive communications. You will coordinate the development of press kits, video content, following approval workflows together with Global Design, Product, PBV and Events teams to ensure that all output is aligned, accurate, and on brand. Media Monitoring & Strategic Insight Leadership: You will lead Kia Europe’s media monitoring, including the tracking of earned coverage across print, online, broadcast, and digital platforms, and translating this into quarterly and annual performance reports for senior leadership. You will contribute to KPI development for both Europe and EU markets. Global PR & Cross-Department Liaison: In your liaison role, you will serve as the main contact for Global PR on topics such as press website governance, measurement methodology, digital standards, and AI‑driven communication tools. You will work closely with HQ, HMETC, PBV, Product, and technical teams to validate information, ensure message consistency, and maintain accuracy in all outgoing materials. At the same time, you will act as a central coordination point for European Market PR Managers; - managing shared resources including contact databases and the PR inbox. Digital PR & AI Communication: The role also includes driving digital PR and AI‑supported initiatives. You will transform press materials into SEO/ AEO‑ready content, strengthen backlink strategies. As the team’s expert on AI tools, you will help optimize internal workflows and enhance how journalists access information. Core PR Operations : Operationally, you will maintain and update the European PR release plan. This includes managing masterplan updates, embargoes, monthly PR manager meetings and newsletters Your talents: A minimum of 4 years experience is the automotive industry is highly advantageous. Proven experience in producing PR tools, including press releases, corresponding visual assets, creating media lists, and responding to press inquiries is highly advantageous. A degree in Public Relations, Journalism and/or Communications is advantageous. Fluent in English (written and spoken), additional EU languages is advantageous. International background with willingness to travel Positive, self-starter, proactive mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit. Works effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks – identify priorities and meet deadlines accordingly. Good writing, editing, and proofreading skills in English (additional EU languages are a plus). High reliability and accountability with exceptional attention to detail. Skilled at transforming complex technical content into clear, media-ready messaging. Solid understanding of digital and IT-driven processes to support the Press Website, with demonstrated interest in leveraging AI to enhance press activities and press website performance. Excellent host, i.e. strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills. Eagerness to learn and contribute across teams in a fast-paced multicultural environment. Excellent MS Office skills (PowerPoint and Excel especially). Who are we?
