To lead and manage the development of priority value chains as assigned, ensuring strong relationships with key stakeholders and development of markets and uptake towards FSC certification by identifying strategic opportunities The Value Chain Manager will implement action plans that connect FSC sustainability goals with commercial impact. Main Roles & Responsibilities To define and implement global market strategies in priority wood or fiber value chain sectors for FSC, such as construction, furniture, tropical timber, packaging, textiles. To identify, define and lead strategic projects and initiatives driving growth opportunities and market transformation, with internal and external partners. To represent FSC International in a priority value chain such as wood or fiber, in internal and external market-related activities, projects, inquiries and events. To steer and support global and regional market development activities in close collaboration with FSC regions and network partners. To proactively monitor value chain status and provide market intelligence and insights in close collaboration with Market Intelligence team To coordinate sector specific marketing and communication materials and channels, in collaboration with the Marketing team. To develop and coordinate strategic partnerships with key value chain actors and key account relations, in collaboration with the Key Account Management team Additional tasks as agreed with the Programme Manager (Value Chain Development) Your profile Education and Training: University degree or equivalent training or experience in a relevant field, for example Business Administration, Forestry, Supply Chain Management, Sustainability Working Experience, Style and Skills: At least 5 years of industry / chain of custody experience with a sustainable forestry related sector, such as construction, furniture, tropical timber, packaging, textiles. Proven track record in managing value chain partnerships, working on supply chain sustaina-bility, B2B sales, business development and/or value chain development. Strong networking abilities with organizational and corporate partners, key accounts and industry influencers. Analytical skills in market intelligence and data analysis regarding industry, market and value chain trends and developments. Experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing complex projects. Experience working with international organizations and project teams. Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to set logical priorities Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strategic business thinking and a solution-oriented approach. Computer Skills: Standard software packages (MS Office). Customer Relations Management (CRM) systems (e.g., sales force) is a plus. Language and Communication Skills: Professional proficiency in English (both spoken and written). Fluency in French or Spanish language is a plus.
