You ensure optimal machine settings and accurate results by leveraging computer programs and selecting the appropriate tools for each task. Your focus is on processing workpieces to exact specifications, consistently delivering high-quality output in a production environment. Job Duties & Responsibilities Adjusts the proper tooling and attachments for the program and cycle being run. Inspects the machine and tools for Conformance to run specifications and worn or broken parts. Loads automatic feeding device; may place and secure work piece manually, depending on the equipment. Begins operation by starting program and machine; monitors screen and machine operations to detect malfunctions. Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformance to close tolerance specifications. Uses various mechanical, hand held, or electronic measuring devices. Corrects malfunction’s and out-of-tolerance conditions by entering commands in the control. Notifies appropriate personnel to document changes made. Replaces worn or broken machine accessories such as cutting tools or abrasives. Maintains machine through cleaning and minor repairs and adjustments such as oiling, adding coolant, etc. Follows all defined safety procedures and uses judgment to ensure safe work methods. Maintains currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes and seminars as needed. Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed. Specifications High School diploma or equivalent. 2 years of machine operator experience. 2 years of CNC experience preferred. Basic verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer & Microsoft office knowledge, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
