At the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, we may not be developing swords to fight the dark side of the Force, but our developments often sound like science fiction. That's because we are designing the technologies and processes for the future of digital production, packaging and scanner technology, and many other laser-based applications, such as 3D printing and laser fusion. Are you looking for an exciting job as a student assistant (m/f/d) that will change the future?
The In-Volume Structuring and Lithography Group is divided into two sections, with one half focusing on the structuring of semiconductors. This involves the use of pulsed laser radiation with pulse durations ranging from femtoseconds to nanoseconds. The use of laser wavelengths in the (deep) ultraviolet range (150-360 nm) enables precise processing of wide bandgap semiconductors. In this area, we work on public projects as well as industrial projects with partners from the semiconductor and LED industries.

* You will test various materials and processes for a LIFT process (Laser Induced Forward Transfer)
* You will be involved in the planning, setup, and execution of experiments
* You will examine the samples using state-of-the-art measurement technology
* You will then evaluate the results and present them
What you contribute
* You are studying physics, mechanical engineering, materials science, or a comparable degree program and are interested in application-oriented research and development
* You are characterized by an independent and meticulous approach to your work and solve problems on your own
* Ideally, you have a broad technical interest and manual dexterity
* Prior knowledge of laser technology is advantageous but not essential
