I'm partnered with a global market leading automotive tier-1 manufacturer based in Munich that is searching for a Global Commodity Manager in Electronics & Plastics to join their function. As a Category Manager, you will manage strategic product groups and drive the global procurement strategy. This includes supplier performance management, cost and supply chain optimisation, and ensuring compliance with market and regulatory developments.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for purchasing electronic & plastic components (PCBAs, sensors, membranes, seals, plastic & rubber components)
* Develop and implement global, cross-divisional category strategies based on procurement market analyses and aligned with business objectives.
* Manage the full supplier lifecycle including selection, qualification, development, performance evaluation, complaint handling and day-to-day operations.
* Lead negotiations for pricing, framework and long-term supply agreements, and manage award projects while building strong strategic supplier partnerships.
* Identify and realize cost optimization initiatives through re-sourcing, technical improvements, production relocations, renegotiations or long-term agreements.
* Coordinate collaboration across the value chain to align quality, costs and delivery performance with internal stakeholders and end customers.
Experience Required:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree
* 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably within an automotive OEM, tier-1, tier-2 or comparable manufacturing environment
* Strong experience with SAP
* Fluent English & German language
