AND EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany. Hauptaufgaben This position supports a Dental Clinic. The primary purpose of this positions is to perform receptionist, record keeping, typing, and other miscellaneous clerical duties in support of a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), such as a clinic or a department in a hospital (e.g., Family Practice, OB/GYN, Dermatology, Radiology, Pathology, Pediatrics, etc.). Within this context performs the following duties: Receives telephone calls regarding the availability of and procedures for obtaining medical assistance. Questions caller to obtain sufficient information of personal data and subsequently updates automated system with changed or updated information. Interviews patients to determine primary need or area of interest and provides assistance or makes referrals to other responsible personnel when matter is outside of employee's scope of assignment. Interviews patients who request initial treatment or unscheduled exami-nations, and obtains information regarding the type of medical problem, whether service-connected or non-service-connected, and prior treatment, if any, received. Reviews discharge papers to obtain identifying information and determines eligibility for treatment. Initiates appointments for patients eligible for treatment. Refers patients not eligible for treatment to supervisor or other hospital service. Initiates patient appointments for tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory examinations with the servicing department, ward, clinics, and centralized appointment system. Explains necessary test preparations to patients and records information such as date, type of examination, and procedures required, on appointment cards. Recognizes restless and apprehensive patients and takes appropriate action in communication with professional personnel. Endeavors to calm disgruntled patients and to resolve complaints of an administrative nature. Performs chaperone duties for physicians, as required. Obtains all medical charts prior to patients? arrival to the MTF. If record is not available through normal procedures, locates record from information given by the medical record department, or by calling the various nursing units, clinics, or physicians' offices. Files results of examination patient charts (i.e., laboratory sheets, X-rays, electroencephalograms). Records reports of laboratory findings, and relays report to physician or nurse in a timely and accurate manner. Reviews charts of patients being discharged from clinic for completeness of information and makes new appointments, or notes changes in patient status, as necessary. Based on review of the patient information, refers charts for physicians' determination as to whether patient is to be retained in various medical programs. Reviews charts to determine patient's eligibility for requested medication. If eligible for medication at Government expense, fills out prescription and forwards to physician for signature. Compiles statistical data on a regular basis on patients treated in the MTF, to include a daily log of patients seen. Reviews, collects, and updates OHI information, category codes and demographic information in the system of record for all patients presenting for care and IAW MTF policy. Types on a word processor, microcomputer or computer terminal from rough draft, brief oral instructions or from dictation a variety of material relating to forms; communications, schedules, reports, and correspondence with responsibility for format, spelling, punctuation, arrangement and spacing of material. Performs other duties as assigned. E&T Level III A and IV A: No additional experience required, however, the completed apprenticeship must have been as a Doctor's Assistant, or in a commercial, business or administrative occupation, e.g. Industriekaufmann/ frau, Kaufmann/frau im Gross und Einzelhandel, or in steuer- und wirtschaftsberatenden Berufen, Rechtsanwaltskanzleien, Banken or similar occupations.
