Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products and introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing ramp-up.
The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, solid models, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings, drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or notes, and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operations or product quality.
Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical engineering, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
Your main tasks:
Independent development / design of electromechanical componentsCreation of documentation and drawings required according to the development processDevelopment in accordance with SPICESelection of suitable materials in line with the requirements defined in the specification sheet or customer specificationsRequirements management using ALM tools such as CodebeamerPlanning and initiation of verification activities as well as evaluation of results for concept and design validationParticipation in Design FMEAs and involvement in Process FMEAsCoordination of qualification tests during prototype and series production phasesSupport of quality and cost optimization activities during series productionYour ideal profile:
Degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering/Design, Precision Engineering or comparable (University of Applied Sciences / Technical University) or certified technicianExperience with development processes in the automotive environment and related quality requirements (QS9000ff; TS16949)Several years of experience in manufacturing- and material-oriented design of plastic componentsExcellent skills in designing complex components using Creo 4.0Very good knowledge of creating technical drawings; GPS knowledge is an advantageGood proficiency in MS OfficeGood command of English, both written and spokenKnowledge of Design-to-Cost evaluation (basic business administration skills)High level of commitment, team spirit, and flexibilityIndependent, structured, and goal-oriented working styleConfident and professional appearance when interacting with internal and external stakeholdersAdditional Qualifications:
Knowledge of IEC 62196-2 and IEC 62196-3 standardsExperience in the development of charging inlets and complex mechatronic systemsSoftware and hardware development experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in R&D EngineeringCompetencies
