About this role
As a Legal Counsel, you'll become part of the group Legal Commercial - People, Supplier & IP Team and work with regional and global teams on individual and collective employment law matters, mainly for our German market. These matters are critical to our continued growth as a busienss, and are the key to our ability to offer a best in class experience to our couriers, staff and customer. You’ll be part of a fantastic team but will also need to be comfortable working independently, drafting and negotiating agreements and working with key stakeholders to get the deal done. As a good communicator, you’re able to answer questions and present information in an easy-to-understand way. Balancing legal risk with commerciality and pragmatism is key to success.
These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
* Provide advice on individual and collective employment law matters, including independently conducting and attending a variety of different court proceedings
* Manage external counsel and cases with employer associations
* Close cooperation with and provide legal advice to a team of labour relations experts and other stakeholders on a broad variety of collective employment law matters, including regarding (negotiation) strategies
* Advice to implement global concepts and vision in a locally compliant manner
* Develop and implement a variety of legal policies and procedures on works council handling to reduce external spend
What will you bring to the table?
* German qualified lawyer
* 5+ years of experience in collective employment law topics and procedural law, preferably from a combination of private practice and in-house roles
* In-depth knowledge of employment law, co-determination legislation and jurisprudence
* Confident working across multiple teams and locations on an international scale
* Fluent English and German language skills (written and spoken)
* Strong communication and organisational skills
