Manager SAP Software Engineering II (f/m/d)
. The role is based at our Headquarters in
Heidelberg
, Germany, and reports to the position Head of Business System Engineering.
You will be part of an exciting and international team delivering technical implementations for S/4HANA, ECC, and other transformation projects. You will lead a team of experienced SAP Software Engineers, driving technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration across all SAP initiatives. This role demands a strong blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and people leadership to optimize team performance and deliver high-impact solutions.
You will play a key role in accelerating the organization's transformation journey and achieving critical milestones. You encourage Clean Core approach and usage of BTP services. You will foster a culture of Clean Core Approach, continuous improvement, encourage agile practices, and ensure alignment with business goals while adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
* Lead and manage a team of SAP developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
* Drive the design and development of scalable SAP solutions using
ABAP
and modern SAP technologies.
* Oversee and contribute to SAP HANA-based development projects, ensuring performance and data integrity.
* Active involvement in operational deliverables through hands-on SAP development
* Champion the
Clean Core
approach by minimizing customizations and promoting extensibility through SAP BTP.
* Guide the team in adopting and integrating
SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
services and tools.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business goals.
* Ensure adherence to development standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
* Mentor team members and support their professional growth through coaching and feedback.
YOUR PROFILE
* Strong hands-on experience in
SAP ABAP development including Object-Oriented Programming
.
* Proven track record of leading and managing SAP development teams.
* Experience in delivering
SAP HANA
projects, including performance optimization and data modeling.
* Solid understanding of the
Clean Core
concept and its application in enterprise environments.
* Familiarity with modern SAP development tools and methodologies (e.g., Fiori/UI5, RAP).
* Experience with
SAP BTP
services, including extension and integration capabilities, is a plus.
* Experience working in an Agile methodology
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Fluent in English; German is a plus.
