Overview
Scope is seeking a talented, results-driven Executive Analyst to join its Financial Institutions team based in the EU. The team is diverse and international, with members in Paris, Milan, London, Frankfurt, and Oslo. Your responsibilities will include assessing credit risk, monitoring ratings of banks and NBFIs, liaising with issuers and market participants, and publishing research on relevant credit topics.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage analytical responsibilities for a portfolio of up to 20 banks and non-bank financial institutions across Europe.
* Lead rating committee discussions, provide rating recommendations, and communicate outcomes through press releases and reports.
* Monitor and review existing ratings, recommending adjustments as needed.
* Serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders.
* Participate in meetings with bank representatives, including senior management.
* Produce insightful research and analytical comments in a timely manner.
* Represent Scope Ratings to investors and market participants through presentations and briefings.
* Contribute to the development of analytical tools, methodologies, and capabilities.
* Chair rating committees, ensuring consistent methodology application.
* Drive the development of new methodological approaches for various asset classes.
* Support team leadership in supervising team members and managing projects.
Qualifications
* Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in financial institutions, such as a rating agency, investment bank, consultancy, or asset manager, with a focus on bank credit analysis.
* Master's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics, or an equivalent field.
* Deep understanding of European bank regulations and trends.
* Extensive knowledge of bank liabilities and risk factors.
* Strong grasp of financial ratios and banking concepts.
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
* Reliable, proactive, and accountable.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
* Exceptional communication skills, fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
* Proficiency in MS Office; VBA, PowerBi, Macrobond, or S&P CapIQ skills are advantageous.
