Strategic channel leader

At the forefront of commercial leadership, this role is instrumental in shaping the mass retail channel strategy within Germany. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader who thrives on driving growth and innovation, with a keen focus on delivering exceptional results.


Key Responsibilities

* Channel Ownership: Spearhead full commercial ownership of the Grocery and Discount channels in Germany, fostering a collaborative environment that drives revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
* Customer Strategy. Develop and execute distinctive strategies for each retailer, aligning with broader commercial objectives and amplifying business impact.
* Team Leadership. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of National Account Managers and Key Account executives, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to excel in their roles.
* P&L Management. Assume responsibility for sales forecasting, gross margins, trade spends, promotional budgets, and revenue targets per customer, providing actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
* Negotiation Excellence. Leverage negotiation expertise to secure advantageous deals with local and regional customers, including buying groups, thereby enhancing market share and revenue growth.
* Retailer Relationships. Establish and nurture strong, trust-based partnerships with top retailer partners, prioritizing open communication, mutual understanding, and collaborative problem-solving.
* Contribution to Wider Success. As a key member of the leadership team, contribute to the overall success of the German operations by undertaking wider leadership projects and deputizing for the Senior Sales Director as required.


Requirements

* A distinguished track record of success in sales (mass and/or discount channel) with a minimum of 8-10 years' experience at senior leadership level.
* Proven expertise in negotiations, listing wins, trade spend management, and market share growth.
* Demonstrated success in both strategic planning and flawless execution.
* Proven experiences with people development, including training, mentoring, and coaching.
* International experience will be highly regarded.
