Overview
As Chief Publishing Officer, you will define and lead Crytek’s global publishing strategy, working closely with the COO and CTO, reporting to the Co-CEO. You will deliver exceptional player experiences while driving strong revenue growth across our portfolio. You will direct a talented team of product leads, communications director, head of sales, and creative marketing director. Together, you’ll build and execute a publishing framework that integrates a consistent approach to product strategy, brand marketing, communications, sales, insights, and community engagement to grow and retain our player base. This role demands commercial acumen, creative vision, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with game leadership and fellow executives to empower every product for success in alignment with Crytek’s long-term strategy.
Responsibilities
* Build and lead Crytek’s global publishing strategy, integrating marketing, commercial operations, communications, and franchise management under a unified framework with clearly defined success criteria
* Shape long-term portfolio and market growth strategies, leveraging player insights, emerging trends, and scalable systems to deliver sustainable success
* Drive player acquisition, retention, engagement, and monetization through data-informed lifecycle strategies and unified insights platforms
* Lead global brand positioning and creative storytelling, ensuring narrative cohesion and cultural relevance across channels and regions
* Build scalable systems and processes that unify products and empower teams under a connected publishing operating model
* Partner with company and game leadership to align creative ambition with business planning, revenue growth, and market expansion
* Collaborate with commercial, finance, and forecasting teams to establish enterprise-aligned business planning and performance management practices
* Champion organizational transformation and culture, simplifying structures, accelerating decision-making, and fostering innovation and adaptability
Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of senior leadership in publishing, commercial, product, or marketing roles, with at least 5 of these years in the video games industry
* Proven success driving global franchise growth and live service ecosystems, connecting creative vision to measurable business outcomes
* Deep expertise in audience segmentation, platform ecosystems, and data-informed marketing, including insights, AI, and automation
* Track record delivering global go-to-market strategies and managing complex IP portfolios
* Strong leadership skills with experience building teams, mentoring talent, and influencing across matrixed organizations
* Excellent communication skills in English and ability to navigate complex situations with clarity and empathy
* Passion for video games and a deep understanding of player communities
* Willingness to relocate to Frankfurt am Main, Germany
