DPO and AI Trust Officer Key responsibilities The Data Protection Officer of AzP Germany is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations within the respective BU under her/ his responsiblity and has a direct reporting line to the AzP Regional DPO NCEE. The local DPO supports Allianz Partners ongoing local activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, manages the oversight over relevant functional areas, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding, serves as the primary point of contact for all data protection-related matters, safeguarding the privacy rights of individuals and the integrity of personal data processed by the organization. Through this role, you will have the main following responsibilities: Ensure GDPR and German data protection compliance. Oversee and monitor compliance with GDPR, German privacy laws, and Allianz Partners’ internal data protection policies across all German legal entities. Advise management and business units on data protection. Act as the primary advisor on data processing activities, including DPIAs, privacy-by-design, regulatory requirements, and data subject rights. Serve as the main contact for German supervisory authorities. Act as the designated point of contact for the German Data Protection Authority, including managing regulatory communication and inquiries. Monitor and coordinate Data Protection activities in Germany. Ensure consistent implementation of data protection procedures, tools, controls, and governance across all German business units and functions. Drive Data Protection risk management. Identify, assess, and monitor data protection risks; contribute to risk assessments and develop mitigation measures aligned with Allianz’s NFRM guidelines. Lead and support audits, investigations, and incident management. Support internal and external audits, handle data protection investigations, and advise on personal data incidents and breach notifications. Support governance, reporting, and maturity assessments. Prepare and deliver mandatory reports, dashboards, and maturity assessments for the Regional DPO and Global Privacy teams. Oversee and guide Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs). Advise on PIAs, ensure correct methodology, evaluate conclusions, and monitor the implementation of recommendations. Promote and maintain Privacy by Design culture. Embed a strong data protection mindset across leadership and teams; ensure privacy requirements are integrated into projects, products, and services. Design and deliver Data Protection training. Execute and monitor training programs for employees, executives, and Privacy Champions in collaboration with Group Privacy. Manage the Privacy Champions community in Germany. Identify required roles, onboard and train Privacy Champions, and lead the local community to ensure strong operational privacy practices. Act as AI Trust Officer for responsible AI oversight. Assess AI use cases for compliance with EU and German AI regulations; monitor AI risks; support incident management; and ensure AI governance documentation is completed. What you bring Substantial experience in a Data Protection/ Legal/ Process Management/ Project Management environment. Experience of working internationally and within a matrix environment. Experience in the insurance or banking industry. Strong knowledge about risks and controls applicable to insurance business. Law degree or equivalent. Training and certification of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. High-level German and English language skills. Knowledge of national data protection laws and practices, and in-depth understanding of the GDPR. Advanced legal/ regulatory understanding of global jurisdiction in which the AZP Global operates with regards to the relevant risk areas. Understanding of relevant regulatory and Data Protection environment - including policies, laws and regulations - of the AZP Group. Strong process skills, OPEX or similar.
