Your mission
* Design and interpretation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) based on requirements and functional needs.
* Define and verify key performance parameters, such as flow rates, pressures, and efficiency, through simulation and testing.
* Define specifications for valves, solenoid valves, control valves, pressure regulators, pressure vessels and safety components.
* Fluid system component selection, trade-off studies and procurement
* Simulation and analysis of system behaviour.
* Design fluid system parts and assemblies in CAD.
* Define operation and safety procedures for the fluid system.
* Analysis of test results to check system performance.
Your profile
* Successfully completed aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.)
* Programming skills would be an advantage (Python, C++, Matlab).
* Proficient with CAD software (Inventor/Creo).
* Experience with simulation software would be an advantage (EcosimPro, Ansys).
* Hands-on experience with assembling, testing and troubleshooting fluid systems.
* Work experience in a start-up environment is an advantage.
* Proactive thinking, high level of motivation, flexibility, and team-working skills.
* Proficiency in both German and English.

About us
The German aerospace start-up POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH is developing a revolutionary reusable space launch and hypersonic transport system that operates like an aircraft.
Based on more than 30 years of German and European spaceplane research, the development of the spaceplane AURORA began at the German Aerospace Center DLR. Aurora combines aircraft and rocket launcher technologies with a unique vehicle design, and offers a game-changing economic viability as well as opening the door for routine low-cost and safe access to space.
In order to validate the technology and accelerate the spaceplane development, POLARIS has been developing a series of scaled flight demonstrators.
