You will be part of the Special IT Support team, which is part of the Infrastructure & Operations Services Division in the Directorate General Information Systems. The Special IT Support team is a primary point of contact between the ECB's executive staff and the ECB's IT organisation. We provide a wide range of IT support services with a 24/7 on-call service for customers including the ECB's President and members of the Executive Board, Supervisory Board, and the Administrative Board of Review, as well as their counsellors and management assistants. We deliver services in all ECB premises and accompany our customers to major external meetings and conferences. The team also provides engineering and innovation as part of its involvement in end-user initiatives and support in major projects with direct customer impacts.
The Infrastructure & Operations Division as a whole has 65 staff providing the ECB's IT infrastructure, ensuring that all relevant systems and applications run smoothly. In addition to designing, implementing and maintaining the technical services that support applications for the European Central Bank (ECB) and the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), the Division also provides collaboration tools such as email, Webex, MS Teams, telephones and mobile devices. We process Service Desk requests to make sure that all ECB users have the hardware and software they need to work effectively. We also provide automation, monitoring and service management to support and optimise business and IT processes within the ECB. We are currently working on a portfolio of innovative projects to integrate cloud services with the ECB's IT infrastructure, enrich automation and introduce software factory services. We support endpoint technologies like Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 and enhance users' mobile devices with native mobile Office applications and collaboration tools.

Your role
As an IT Infrastructure Specialist you will:
* support the ECB's Executive staff by providing solutions for their IT enquiries and issues on-site and remotely;
* set up dedicated end-user devices, including mobile devices for ECB's Executive staff members;
* manage a complete set of devices belonging to high-ranking individuals;
* engage and collaborate with end users to understand and gather requirements for desired ad hoc IT solutions;
* design and implement ad hoc IT solutions to fulfil non-standard and urgent IT requests;
* present new and changed functionality in IT systems to end users in an interesting and understandable manner;
* establish and maintain good relationships with other support teams at the ECB, holding a good understanding of which team can help with which issues.

Essential:
* a bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
* in addition to the above, a minimum of four years' experience in the field of end-user support to high-ranking individuals with a wide range of IT technologies;
* professional experience with Microsoft end-user technologies (Windows 11, Microsoft 365, SCCM, Intune, MS Teams);
* professional experience with Apple iOS and macOS technologies;
* professional experience with MS Teams and Cisco Webex;
* a sound understanding of modern IT security concepts;
* a sound understanding of email technologies;
* a sound understanding of IP network technologies;
* a sound understanding of Wi-Fi technologies;
* an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
* a sound understanding of personal productivity improvement tools like Microsoft Copilot;
* a sound understanding of Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Active Directory systems;

Working modalities
You will occasionally be expected to perform work during non-standard working hours to ensure 24/7 access to IT support on an on-call basis. You may be asked to travel to locations outside Frankfurt for official meetings and conferences e.g. Governing Council to prepare an on-site IT setup and provide IT assistance during such events.
Further information
The contract will be convertible into a permanent contracts after three years, subject to individual performance and organisational needs.
