Cassini is an artificial intelligence search platform that powers most of eBay's applications, from the search results page to Ads serving and AI chatbot. The system uses query workflows configured by different teams inside eBay.
Cassini serves several billion requests per day and hosts multiple billion documents in its production environment. Our mission is to help product teams create relevant, scalable experiences powered by AI.
The team achieves this goal through:
* Adding new functionality to the platform,
* Optimizing cost-to-serve and latency on a platform level or optimizing via consultation on the application level, and
* Improving self-serve capabilities.
