In our Laser Medical Technology and Biophotonics department, we develop innovative laser surgical procedures and systems in collaboration with leading clinical partners and medical technology companies. We are looking for a committed medical physicist / physicist to join our laser surgery projects as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration and be willing to take on responsibility in challenging research and development projects in the field of robotic laser surgery.

* You will develop new laser surgery methods and systems in an interdisciplinary team
* Your tasks will include investigating the interaction of focused laser radiation with biological tissue and its laser technological implementation in a safe and efficient process for cutting hard tissue and removing tumors
* You will work closely with clinical and industrial partners from the fields of medical technology, laser technology, and information technology
* You will implement the developed processes together with our engineers and technicians, continuously expanding your knowledge in the process
* In addition, you will conduct field trials in a clinical environment to test the developed methods and devices under realistic conditions
What you contribute
* You have an excellent master's degree in medical physics, physics, or related fields and have in-depth knowledge of optics and laser technology
* Ideally, you have anatomical knowledge and programming experience in Simulink, MATLAB, or Python
* You will take on project responsibility and work in an interdisciplinary manner with various departments
* You are characterized by a responsible and independent approach to work and a willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics
* With your commitment, open team-oriented communication, and good English language skills, you are well prepared for working in an international environment

The weekly working time is 39 hours.
