Senior Director Sales (m/f/d) TIER I Automotive - Munich, Germany Qualcomm
Qualcomm is recruiting a Senior Director Sales Automotive. This position leads Tier 1 accounts in Europe with focus on Automotive products and services. You will develop and execute sales plans, build long-term relationships with key executive and working-level stakeholders at Tier 1s, and maintain a 360-degree view of customers across technical and commercial teams to drive revenue growth in Europe.
Responsibilities
* You will take the account lead of a portfolio of existing projects and opportunities executed globally, in an international environment.
* Identify business opportunities within focused segments in Automotive.
* Develop and secure a sustainable customer network at technical and business levels to gain early visibility of opportunities.
* Manage customer relationships at relevant levels to identify market developments and plan products in new projects.
* Collaborate with Business Unit Product Management and Regional leadership to build strategy and goals for accounts, design wins, and revenue pipelines.
* Support RFQ and design-in processes for new projects; conduct price negotiations with finance; drive commercial agreements with legal.
* Support Product Management and Engineering with cost analyses for support/NRE and manage related negotiations.
* Oversee project setup and commercial follow-up from initial sale to SOP to EOL, including milestones and maintenance.
* Coordinate with customer engineering to deploy and maintain projects; forecast, quote, invoice, manage samples and ramp-ups; liaise with supply and logistics teams.
* Be the first point of contact and trusted partner for customers with the assigned team; manage regional/international sales topics with customers.
* Monitor customer trends in application, technical, quantitative, and monetary development; conduct regular customer visits or online conferences for design/technical advice, offers, price negotiations, and framework agreements; manage logistics and quality.
Profile / Qualifications
* Bachelor/Master in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
* Minimum 15 years of experience in semiconductor Sales, Account Management, or Business Development
* Deep understanding of the European automotive market ecosystem and go-to-market channels
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; fluent in English and preferably German; ability to work in international, multicultural context
* Ability to explain complex technical content to business partners
* Autonomous work style with ability to set priorities for Qualcomm and customers
* Experience in mentoring junior team members and managing junior account leads
* Willingness to be present in the Munich office for effective teamwork
* Strong internal drive with Qualcomm BUs to advance business; ability to interface at all customer levels and conduct site visits
* Background in legal and finance sales processes
* High flexibility, autonomy, motivation, customer focus, business orientation, and networking ability
* Good communication and management skills in face-to-face and virtual team settings
