Freelance Environmental Test Engineer (m/w/d) | 6-Month Contract | Hamburg (On-Site with Remote Option)

Hamburg
on an exciting
6-month freelance assignment
in the defense and land vehicle sector.
This project involves environmental qualification and testing of high-performance power units in a
military context
— working with internationally recognized standards such as
MIL-STD, STANAG, ISO, VG
and more.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, organize, and execute environmental qualification tests (e.g. MIL-STD-810, STANAG, ISO 16750)
* Develop test plans, procedures, and qualification documentation
* Oversee testing in internal and external laboratories
* Analyze and evaluate measurement data and test results
* Interface with development, QA, project management, customers, and authorities
* Support setup and development of test environments, methods, and tools
* Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality requirements
* Participate in reviews, audits, and technical approvals
Your Profile:
* Degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, aerospace engineering, or similar
* Several years' experience in environmental testing, ideally in military or safety-critical sectors
* Strong knowledge of relevant standards (MIL-STD-810, ISO 16750, EN 60068, etc.)
* Hands-on experience with test equipment and data evaluation
* Proficient in MS Office and documentation tools (e.g. DOORS)
* Structured, independent, and team-oriented work style
* Fluent German
(spoken and written) is a must
* English skills also required
* Willingness to travel occasionally
