Research assistant (m/f/x) one doctoral candidate and one postdoctoral researcher for a period of three years with 39.83 hours per week (TV-L E13)
The research group of Prof. Dr. Sophie Langer at the Faculty of Mathematics is seeking a motivated research associate to strengthen the team in the area of deep learning theory, with a particular focus on statistical questions. Our research focuses include, among others, the theoretical analysis of estimation methods using neural networks, the investigation of optimization algorithms, the modeling of complex prediction problems (e.g., image classification, natural language processing), as well as the statistical theory of reinforcement learning.

Your profile:
* Applicants with a Master's degree in Statistics or Mathematics and strong expertise in mathematical statistics are sought
* Experience in conducting mathematics teaching tasks, especially with students from scientific, technical, and economic disciplines
* Willingness for further academic qualification is offered and encouraged
* For Postdoc applications: a completed doctorate or proof that the doctorate is imminent

The position is salaried and based on the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L). If the personal and collective agreement requirements are met, the employee will receive pay grade E13 TV-L.
