The Agora think tanks – Agora Energiewende, Agora Industry and Agora Agriculture – drive systemic transformation by developing evidence-based policy solutions, assessing technology options and building international collaborations. To strengthen the reach and impact of our work, we are currently looking for a: Manager Press and Communications Berlin-based, full-or part-time role (min. 32 hrs), f/m/d In this role, you will be part of our 18-person communications team based across Berlin, Brussels and Bangkok. You will primarily work on topics related to achieving climate-neutral industry internationally and in Germany, coordinating closely with our communication colleagues in Brussels. In close cooperation with content teams working on the industry transformation and related topics, you will develop narratives and messaging, communicating about Agora’s work through various channels, liaise with journalists, maintain and build on a network of communication partnerships, and further develop Agora’s communication strategy. Your responsibilities include Managing Agora’s communication and outreach relating primarily to our work on industry internationally and in Germany. This includes pitching stories, working with different communication formats, writing press releases, organising press events and producing web and social media content in close collaboration with content leads; Project management to guide content teams in their outreach and team support for all communications-related activities; Internal communications to ensure flow of information and knowledge sharing; Collaborating with communication colleagues of think tank partners (in particular the International Network of Energy Transition Think Tanks INETTT); Further developing Agora’s Industry’s communication strategy; Working closely with communication colleagues in Brussels on EU industry work. We are looking for At least 4 years of work experience and a proven track-record in communications, e.g., in the PR-sector or in a similar role in another organisation; A political mind with the strong desire to actively shape the global clean energy and industry transition; Strong project management skills; A confident, practical and entrepreneurial character, with openness to working hands-on, proactively and independently on diverse challenges and topics in parallel; Full command of English and German language in speaking, reading and writing; and Proven skills in dealing with social media, ideally including video and audio, and experience in using CMS (like Typo 3).
