Description This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' Teachers are an entry support level individual contributor that helps train missionaries in a variety of settings and topics. Training may include language skills, gospel doctrine/Preach My Gospel instruction, and missionary skill development. Teachers may train both junior and senior missionaries before they enter the MTC, while at the MTC and after leaving the MTC. They follow an approved curriculum and may be selected to participate in pilots and initiatives. Responsibilities Reports to trainer or supervisor level in Training department. Provide instruction, direction, counsel, and feedback to missionaries on the following topics: the doctrine of Christ and the missionary purpose, teaching by the Spirit and inviting, finding locally, and using technology, uniting with members, setting goals, and making plans, and turning to the Lord to develop resilience. Topics to be adjusted, only as directed by department leadership. Work in both one-on-one and small group facilitation training sessions. Implement direction and training from the Infield Training Supervisor, Manager of Training, and Sr. Manager of Infield Training. Report on needs and progress of assigned tasks to leadership. Qualifications Basic Requirements: Applicants must be returned missionaries home no longer than 48 months. Fluency in one of the two mentoring languages: English or French Knowledge and understanding of Preach My Gospel Must be self-motivated and able to work well with people Must be willing to receive and implement feedback Must be able to work 17-20 hours per week (up to 25 hrs if desired) - university students are welcome to apply MTC classroom teaching or tutoring experience preferred Technical Requirements: Experience with online interactions including chat, video conference, etc. preferred An environment free of distractions A stable internet connection To take mentoring sessions from a laptop or desktop computer. Use their personal phone and phone number to reach out to missionaries 2-3 times a week Use their personal Facebook or WhatsApp account to coordinate Group Meetings with missionaries. Legal Requirements: Candidates must reside in Belgium or Germany to start in this position (feel free to apply if you are still on a mission, but will return to Belgium or Germany) Candidates must have the right to work in Belgium or Germany. No sponsorship of work permits.
