You’ll be leading an engineering team (6-10 developers). Your challenges as a team manager include :
1. Driving team performance and way of working, leading to reliable and predictable delivery of business value.
2. Leading team members on a growth path that maximizes their potential and unlocks high performance and impact through goal-setting and regular, insightful feedback.
3. Establishing yourself as a credible technical leader in the team’s domain, while also contributing individually.
4. Ensuring effective collaboration between the team and stakeholders, including the product organization.
5. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement with regular inspect-and-adapt sessions.
6. Monitoring team health through sustainable dynamics and adherence to engineering best practices.
7. Identifying and hiring valuable candidates to grow a diverse, resilient, and high-performing team.
8. Being an inspiring role model for engineers.
What you’ll need
* Good interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with and influencing senior engineers.
* Up-to-date, hands-on programming skills in at least one of C++, Swift, Kotlin, to support the team through individual contributions when needed.
* Credible senior software engineering experience in a team setting.
* A passion for developing and learning engineering management skills.
* A passion to help others grow and succeed.
* Empathy and strong ability to connect deeply with others.
* A strong sense of ownership.
* Senior-level software engineering background with strong algorithmic and system architecture skills.
What’s nice to have
* Experience leading a team of software engineers.
