Instrumentation Commissioning Lead | Major Capital Programme Germany | Long-Term Contract ENG Bauen is supporting the delivery of a major industrial investment programme in Western Germany, focused on advanced processing and next-generation materials technologies. We are seeking an Instrumentation Commissioning Lead to join the project execution team during the transition from late construction into commissioning, start-up, and operational readiness. This role will take responsibility for all instrumentation commissioning activities, ensuring accurate calibration, integration, and validation of control systems across the facility. The successful candidate will have deep experience in DCS/PLC systems, field instrumentation, and control loop verification in complex process environments. The position offers a long-term contract running through 2027 and represents an excellent opportunity to play a central role in one of Europe’s most advanced capital programmes. Key Responsibilities: Lead execution of instrumentation commissioning across DCS, PLC, and field devices Oversee calibration, loop checks, cause-and-effect testing, and system integration Develop and manage commissioning schedules, ensuring alignment with CSU milestones Supervise vendor activities including FAT/SAT and control system validation Coordinate with construction for punch closure and turnover of instrument systems Ensure compliance with site safety standards, PSSR protocols, and quality requirements Deliver structured reporting, tracking progress against project KPIs Support training and readiness of operations personnel on instrument systems Ideal Candidate: 15 years of commissioning experience in chemical, petrochemical, or process industry projects Strong technical expertise across instrumentation, DCS/PLC systems, and control system integration Proven track record delivering instrumentation commissioning on large-scale capital projects Fluent or strong working knowledge of German (essential for site coordination and safety protocols) Ability to manage multiple vendor interfaces and ensure seamless system integration Proficient in commissioning databases, turnover systems, and digital reporting tools If you are an experienced commissioning professional and would like to learn more, please get in touch or apply for this opportunity.
