Overview:
Our client, a leading international manufacturer in the automotive and technology sector, is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel (Volljurist) to join their in-house legal team. The role offers a diverse mix of work spanning sanctions and export control, trade compliance, and general commercial law within a global business environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise the business on EU and international sanctions, embargoes, and trade compliance regulations, ensuring company-wide adherence to legal frameworks.
* Support and develop internal compliance policies, programs, and training related to export control and sanctions.
* Provide legal support for commercial contracts, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supply, distribution, and partnership agreements.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across legal, compliance, procurement, and business units to ensure legally sound and compliant business operations.
* Monitor regulatory developments in EU and international trade law and assess their impact on the company’s global operations.
* Coordinate with external counsel and regulatory authorities where necessary.
Requirements
* Fully qualified Volljurist (1st and 2nd State Examination).
* Professional experience working in international trade law, sanctions compliance, or commercial law—either in a law firm or corporate legal department.
* Solid understanding of European and international export control and sanctions regimes (e.g., EU, US, UK).
* Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance compliance requirements and commercial objectives.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in German and English.
