Tasks
Strategic Responsibilities
* Process Optimization: Develop and implement measures to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain (e.g., digitalization, automation).
* Logistics KPI Analysis: Create and evaluate KPIs (e.g., delivery times, inventory turnover, return rates) for continuous improvement.
* Supplier Management: Select and evaluate logistics service providers and freight forwarders, including price and contract negotiations.
* Network Optimization: Plan and implement optimized logistics networks for target markets in Southern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
* Budget Planning: Assist in budget preparation and monitor costs in the logistics area.
* Sustainability: Identify and implement measures to reduce CO₂ emissions and increase ecological efficiency in logistics.
Leadership Responsibilities
* Team Leadership: Manage and motivate the logistics team, including setting objectives and evaluating performance.
* Employee Development: Organize training and professional development for logistics staff.
* Interface Management: Work closely with other departments (e.g., Sales, Purchasing, Customs) to ensure seamless process integration.
* Change Management: Lead the team through the implementation of changes and new processes.
* Communication: Regularly report to management on logistics strategies, risks, and successes.
Operational Responsibilities
* Coordinate Daily Operations: Oversee smooth handling of inbound and outbound goods as well as inventory management.
* Transport Management: Organize and control international transport (land, sea, air) considering delivery deadlines and target market requirements.
* Customs Handling Support: Collaborate closely with the customs team to ensure correct export and import processes.
* Freight Cost Control: Review freight and logistics costs for efficiency and optimization opportunities.
* Problem-Solving: Actively address disruptions in logistics processes (e.g., delays, bottlenecks, damage cases).
* Quality Control: Ensure compliance with standards in packaging, transportation, and storage, especially for export goods.
Requirements
Your Skill Set – Strong Like Our Protein
* Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
* Several years of experience in a leadership role in logistics, ideally in international export business.
* Solid knowledge of transport logistics (land, sea, air) as well as warehouse and inventory management.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), logistics software, and MS Office (especially Excel).
* Knowledge of customs and export regulations as well as requirements of target regions (Southern Europe, Middle East, Asia).
* Leadership skills, assertiveness, and the ability to motivate and develop teams.
* Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented working style.
* Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus.
* Intercultural competence and experience in dealing with international business partners.
