Description JOB SUMMARY The Manager, PMO – IT Opening Projects EMEA supports the coordination of the EMEA IT Opening Projects PMO. This includes overseeing daily PMO operations, guiding policies and processes, and coordinating project management staff. The role collaborates with department leaders to align and execute projects and programs. Key responsibilities include managing relationships with IT Directors and Training teams, ensuring certified trainers are booked for openings, and maintaining strategic vendor contracts. The role also identifies and drives strategic development opportunities, sustains existing processes, and ensures compliance across all project areas. The Manager is accountable for tracking project health, meeting deadlines, and ensuring milestones are documented and communicated. Stakeholder engagement and risk analysis are central to the role. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution Assist in developing and executing PMO programs with timelines, budgets, and resource allocation Coordinate project activities and ensure team alignment Communicate updates, milestones, and timelines to stakeholders Strategic Development & Innovation Identify opportunities for growth and improvement Lead new initiatives and optimize existing ones Monitor project health and compliance using tools like OASIS, LandIt, NOMAD, and COMPASS Data Analytics & Reporting Analyze financial data, risks, and resource allocation Track milestones and audit project data Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders Resource & Risk Management Allocate resources including personnel and budget Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies Team Leadership & Collaboration Foster strong project teams and resolve conflicts Coordinate hiring and development of diverse implementation and training teams Collaborate across departments to prioritize and develop projects Financial & Vendor Oversight Ensure cost recovery and budget adherence Manage vendor contracts and sourcing strategies Communicate project costs to owners and franchisees Operational Excellence Maintain thorough business knowledge and monitor KPIs Coordinate handover of projects to EMEA IT Operations Support ongoing education and training of IT associates Candidate Profile Experience 3–5 years managing large-scale projects Hotel operations experience preferred Proven ability to apply tech-enabled solutions Strong relationship-building and problem-solving skills Leadership in hospitality and enabling technologies Personal Attributes & Competencies Collaborative, persistent, and results-oriented Strong communicator with analytical mindset Comfortable with complexity and change Innovative and agile learner Politically savvy and highly organized Education or Certification Formal project management training preferred Certifications in Smartsheet, Power BI, Excel, Data & Analytics beneficial Technical Expertise Computer Skills Knowledge of Marriott’s standard applications and infrastructure Familiarity with policies and processes for system implementation Proficient in office automation tools Other Technical Skills Hotel operations and administrative coordination Experience with Smartsheet or MS Project Advanced Excel, Power BI, and MS Teams skills Comprehensive understanding of Marriott hotel operations Fluent in English (spoken and written) Why Join Marriott International?
