This position can be filled either full-time or part-time.
In the role of a Director European Patent Attorney (m/f/d) you will support the business on all patent related questions to enable product launches.
Your Responsibilities:
Responsible for the global IP strategy for several biosimilar products at various stages in development and launch
Work closely with cross‑functional project teams to guide the design of biosimilar products, formulations and manufacturing processes having FTO
Collaborate in aligning the strategies of IP, regulatory, supply and commercial to devise routes to key markets
Draft Freedom to Operate (FTO) opinions and monitor & organize competitor IP landscapes
Manage and participate in patent challenge work including European patent oppositions, patent‑linkage proceedings
Manage multi‑country patent litigations and participate in settlement discussions
Give timely and accurate legal advice to senior management on complex IP landscapes, enabling business decisions to be taken
Collaborate and ideate with business functions (including Partnerships, Supply, PLM) to identify strategic opportunities to expand the Biosimilars portfolio in key markets
Your Qualifications:
Scientific degree in a relevant field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy)
At least 10 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or pharmacy industry
Qualified European Patent Attorney (EPA) - mandatory
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Proven expertise in patent litigation, FTO analysis and IP portfolio strategy
Strong communication and negotiation skills when interacting with senior leadership
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
