About The Team Our General Ledger team is responsible for maintaining and managing our company’s financial records. We ensure accuracy and compliance with all tax and accounting standards. This includes a variety of tasks such as: Posting journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports for all legal entities within our organization. The team also plays a key role in timely monthly and annual closings, financial data analysis, and supporting audits. In addition to performing routine tasks and contributing to projects we also provide valuable insights and timely data to our internal and external business partners, enabling well-informed, strategic decisions. We are looking for a dedicated General Ledger Accountant (all genders) to temporarily support our global team for 1.5 years while one of our colleagues is on long-term sick leave. Your Contribution Responsible for complete and accurate transactions, month-end-closing activities, and the preparation of financial statements and relevant reporting packages for the NI entities within your scope. Analyze and reconcile general ledger account balances, review monthly and annual financial results, and provide explanations of variances, identifying key drivers. Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions including expenses, accruals, taxes, and fixed assets; ensuring properly recorded in the general ledger. Support tax-related activities by providing financial data for calculations and assisting in the preparation of tax returns and reports. Actively involved in statutory and tax audits, respond to ad-hoc financial analysis or reporting requests, and contribute to projects as needed by the business. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate closely with the Finance Team and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient workflows across the organization. Our Ideal Candidate University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxes, Business or a related commercial education background with 1-2 years working experience in financial accounting and taxes under HGB (IFRS is a plus). Familiar with working and collaborating in international teams. Experience in taxes and fixed asset ledger are advantageous. Strong communication skills in English and German. Proactive attitude, eager to take on challenges, committed and resilient when working under tight deadlines. Results-driven and detail-oriented, with proven problem-solving skills. Confident in working with internal & external parties to discuss issues and drive projects to successful completion. Ideally proficient with both Microsoft/Google tools and ERP systems like Oracle.
