Business Partner - Senior Controlling Location: Essen
Our client, a leading international company, is looking for a Senior Controlling Business Partner to support financial planning and performance management across strategic technology and innovation functions. This role involves delivering financial insights, supporting investment decisions, and driving improvements in controlling processes within a dynamic and digitalized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a strategic finance partner to senior leadership, offering clear financial insights to guide decision-making.
Lead core controlling processes including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
Prepare and present financial results, explain variances, challenge assumptions, and support corrective actions.
Develop business cases for investment decisions and provide financial modelling and analysis.
Drive efficiency by enhancing and digitalising financial processes and tools.
Collaborate with stakeholders across business, finance, and IT functions.
Contribute to cross-functional transformation and finance strategy projects.
Ensure accurate project cost tracking and compliance with financial regulations.
Your Profile:
Degree in finance, business informatics, or a related field with several years of experience in controlling or business partnering within a multinational or technology-focused environment.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (e.g. IFRS, GAAP), budgeting, and variance analysis.
Skilled in data interpretation and communicating insights to senior stakeholders.
Proficient in financial systems such as SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, SAC, or Apptio is a plus.
Clear communicator with strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented.
Fluent in English; German is a plus.
