Role: EPMS / BMS Lead Engineer/Package Manager
Location: Frankfurt, Germany
Salary: €100,000 - €110,000 + package
Contract: 24-month fixed-term contract, with possibility of permanent contract
We’re working with a leading engineering and construction business delivering major data centre projects across Germany.
They’re now looking for an EPMS / BMS Lead Engineer to join the commissioning team on a large-scale data centre project. This role will focus on the commissioning, integration and handover of critical monitoring and control systems, working closely with the wider project, commissioning, quality and client teams.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with data centre commissioning experience who understands EPMS, BMS and wider control systems, and who can help drive a key technical package from system readiness through to functional testing, IST, handover and close-out.
What you’ll be doing
* Leading EPMS / BMS commissioning activities on a major data centre project
* Acting as the main technical point of contact for assigned monitoring, controls and integration packages
* Coordinating vendors, subcontractors, commissioning teams, QA/QC, construction teams and client-side stakeholders
* Supporting the planning and delivery of commissioning activities across L1-L5
* Managing and supporting FAT, SAT, functional testing, IST, handover and close-out
* Reviewing commissioning progress and identifying risks to completion, programme, quality or system readiness
* Supporting loop checks, point-to-point testing, cause and effect testing and system verification
* Tracking technical issues, defects, snags and integration problems through to resolution
* Reviewing and managing testing documentation, commissioning records, reports and handover packs
* Ensuring systems are commissioned in line with project specifications, design requirements and client expectations
* Supporting safe systems of work, including PTW, SSOW and LOTO procedures where required
* Working closely with the wider project team to ensure the package is delivered in line with programme
What you’ll need
* Strong experience in EPMS, BMS, controls, commissioning engineering or lead engineering roles
* Large-scale data centre project experience is essential
* Experience working within EPC or EPCM project environments
* Strong understanding of L1-L5 commissioning stages
* Experience with FAT, SAT, functional testing, IST and handover
* Strong technical understanding of EPMS, BMS, EMS, SCADA, PLCs, controls or monitoring systems
* Good understanding of how control and monitoring systems interface with wider electrical and mechanical infrastructure
* Ability to coordinate vendors, subcontractors, commissioning teams and project stakeholders
* Ability to identify, manage and communicate commissioning risks
* Understanding of FIDIC contracts would be beneficial, particularly Red, Yellow or Silver Book environments
* German language skills would be beneficial, but are not essential
* Must have the right to work in Germany. Non-EU nationals can be considered if they already hold a valid German work permit
