Headquarters is seeking a candidate for the Information Technology division in Bonn to start as soon as possible: IT Operations Administration Specialist – Windows (f/m/d) (Pay Grade A 12 BBesO / Pay Grade 12 TVöD Bund, Reference: ZEIT4219, Job ID 1426462) The position is permanent under the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD Bund) in Pay Grade 12. Depending on the applicant pool, an additional temporary skilled worker allowance of up to 1,500 euros per month may be considered. © Federal Agency for Real Estate Affairs The Federal Agency for Real Estate Affairs (BImA) is the federal government’s real estate service provider, supporting the federal government’s real estate policy objectives and providing the necessary land and buildings for nearly all federal agencies. Through the management and continuous optimization of the IT infrastructure, we ensure secure and seamless digital processes in the Information Technology division. As a modern IT unit, we provide advice on all content-related, procedural, and economic issues. We are constantly further developing the “digital nervous system” of BImA. That’s why we need you! Join us at BImA! What will your responsibilities be with us? We are looking for an experienced IT Operations Administrator (Windows) to reliably manage and further develop our Windows server environment. IT Security Design and Implementation Creation and development of concepts for the security architecture of the systems in use Support and consultation in the planning of security concepts Implementation of IT security measures and data protection requirements Preparation of security needs analyses and security reports Assistance in the preparation of emergency response plans IT Release Management Planning and coordination of releases (including scheduling and deployment) Preparation of documentation and delivery of training for end users Troubleshooting and problem resolution following release rollout IT incident and problem management Documentation and resolution of malfunctions and complex IT requests Analysis and identification of problems, as well as development of solutions IT operations and administration Creation and development of concepts for the operational architecture of the systems in use Support and consulting for the planning of operational concepts Administration of Windows servers, databases, and highly complex applications Backup/restore, archiving, and storage media management Setup, management, and maintenance of data center server hardware Management and maintenance of data center technical rooms (power supply, cooling, UPS, etc.) These tasks require a strategic, solution-oriented approach and a high level of communication and coordination skills. We work remotely and flexibly. However, business travel may occasionally be required as part of the job, particularly on-site assignments throughout Germany. These business trips are generally planned well in advance to ensure a healthy work-life balance. What do you bring to the table? Education: A completed technical university degree (Bachelor’s or University of Applied Sciences degree) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable qualification. Alternatively, a career qualification for the higher technical service. Experience: You possess in-depth knowledge and experience in working with client-side hardware and operating systems. Furthermore, you possess excellent knowledge and experience working with current Microsoft server systems (HyperV, S2D, etc.). A strong understanding of system architectures within the Microsoft Stack context—particularly in on-premises environments—as well as strong conceptual skills in the context of IT system architectures are also important. You bring excellent knowledge and experience in performing error analysis during malfunctions and issues, such as log analysis, etc. You should have experience in IT project management. Furthermore, you possess knowledge of ITIL processes, including “Service Operation,” and training, particularly in communicating IT innovations. Expertise: You possess excellent expertise and experience in performance optimization and troubleshooting. Furthermore, you have excellent expertise and experience in managing operational IT tasks as well as experience in managing external service providers. You have knowledge of IT law, IT compliance, data protection, and information security. You are distinguished by your strong command of technical terminology in English. Personality: You are characterized by an independent and service-oriented approach to work, as well as a high level of motivation. You enjoy experimenting and take pleasure in implementing new initiatives. In addition, you possess strong organizational and communication skills, as well as a high degree of interpersonal competence. For this position, you must be willing to undergo an extended security clearance in accordance with the Federal Security Clearance Act (SÜG2); successful completion of this clearance is a prerequisite for filling the position.
