About the Team
You will join a highly specialized R&D team developing advanced optical simulation and automotive lighting design software used by leading global automotive companies.
The team combines expertise in computer graphics, physics-based light transport simulation, GPU acceleration, and software engineering to build scalable and high-performance optical design solutions.
Working in a collaborative Agile environment, you will partner closely with software developers, researchers, testers, and domain experts to solve complex simulation and rendering challenges while continuously improving product performance, scalability, and usability.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and technically passionate Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in computer graphics, simulation algorithms, and modern software development practices.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge optical simulation software used in automotive lighting design. You will work on improving light transport algorithms, optimizing performance, and building robust software architectures for commercial-grade engineering applications.
This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving mathematically and technically complex problems, experimenting with new technologies, and translating research concepts into scalable production software.
Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance software solutions for automotive optical simulation and lighting design
2. Improve light transport and rendering algorithms to enhance robustness, accuracy, scalability, and computational efficiency
3. Contribute to scalable and maintainable software architecture for large commercial software products
4. Collaborate with Agile development teams and cross-functional R&D stakeholders
5. Implement and optimize modern software engineering practices including code reviews, refactoring, unit testing, and regression testing
6. Work closely with researchers and engineers to transform advanced graphics and simulation concepts into production-ready solutions
7. Explore and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools for prototyping, testing, and engineering productivity
8. Support continuous product quality improvements and technical innovation initiatives
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
9. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Graphics, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field
10. 5+ years of professional software development experience in technically complex environments
11. Strong expertise in Object-Oriented Design and modern software engineering principles
12. Excellent programming skills in modern C++ and/or C#
13. Experience developing and shipping commercial-grade software products
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
15. Experience working with large code bases and scalable software architectures
16. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
17. Comfortable working in Agile development environments
18. Interest in computer graphics, simulation, rendering, or scientific computing
Desired Qualifications
19. Experience with GPU programming technologies such as CUDA, OptiX, Vulkan, DirectX, OpenGL, or similar
20. Knowledge of rendering pipelines, ray tracing, Monte Carlo simulation, or physically-based rendering
21. Experience developing within CAD platforms such as CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE/CAA V5, SolidWorks, Creo, or NX
22. Background in computational geometry, optics, or physics-based simulation
23. Familiarity with performance optimization and parallel computing
24. Experience using AI-assisted engineering or software development tools
