Network Infrastructure Engineer
European XFEL is a non-profit international research organization in the Hamburg metropolitan area. We operate a 3.4-kilometer-long laser to provide high-quality X-ray radiation to the global scientific community.
We are looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team of experts in electrical engineering and electronics.
* Design and plan the cable infrastructure for our instruments.
* Create project-specific documentation for the cabling.
* Manage network racks: plan rack spaces and assignments.
* Coorperate, monitor, and control outsourced projects.
* Support the tendering process for cable infrastructure (provide documents for performance specifications).
* Support the setup of new network infrastructure.
* Implement a new cable planning software.
The ideal candidate has:
* A degree in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification.
* Excellent knowledge of EMSR (Electro-, Measurement-, Control- and Regulation Technology).
* Several years of experience in the EMSR field or comparable fields.
* Experience with EPLAN P8; EPLAN Cable ProD is an advantage.
* Experience working with fieldbus and SPS systems is an advantage.
* A structured, goal-oriented, and self-responsible way of working.
* Team skills and joy in collaboration in a multicultural environment.
* Very good communication skills in German and English.
